Cell & Molecular Biology Lab
Access to the Cellular & Molecular Biology Laboratory is through the Experimental Design and Research courses. Students in the BioMedicine Academy have access to this lab with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment. Students first take an intro-to-research course called Experimental Design & Epidemiology, and through the course learn crucial skills in the laboratory such as cell culture, PCR, gel electrophoresis, centrifugation, reagant preparation, etc. The laboratory has biological safety cabinets (for cell culture and transfection), centrifuges, thermal cyclers, advanced microscopes, and additional equipment necessary for cellular and molecular biology research.
Students get to utilize Cell Culture, Cell Analysis, Advanced Microscopy, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, Chromatography, and more lab techniques in experiments.
